The distinctive flavors of Suntory Umeshu are the result of its long time aging in casks at the Yamazaki Distillery, the birthplace of Japanese whisky. Maturing the liqueur in these old whisky-soaked casks brings out pleasing aromas from the wood and gives it a profound and fragrant flavor that only toasted casks can achieve. This is the result of the Western spirit-making skills handed down over generations at Suntory as well as our blending techniques.
The Umeshu matured in casks at Yamazaki Distillery, the birthplace of Japanese whisky, is blended with a hint of brandy for a rich flavour with 20% ABV. This is the product of Suntory’s generations of Western spirit-making skills and blending techniques. It fills the palate with a rich and lingering flavoor.
